On The Way Via LA

I DON’T love LA. Got into LAX at around 8:45pm PST and it was nearly 10:30pm by the time I got to the Hilton. Hilton charges for Internet access. What a backwards thing to do. It is strange that the expensive flagship brand charges but the downscale Hampton Inns does not. Go figure...

This entry will probably not get uploaded until I get to New Zealand, unless I come across a free AP tomorrow.

The trip from Cohasset to LA, door to door, was about the longest I’ve ever taken (except the drive cross-country, of course). Left at 6:45am EST got to the Hotel at 1:15am EST. Much of the day was spent at the Atlanta airport, which is pretty nice and new.

The AirTran flights were both pretty comfortable. No meals or movies, but they have XM radio to each seat, which means about 150 channels to listen to. It was just an awfully long route from Boston to LA.

I quickly ran out of reading material and ended up buying two books at Atlanta, Freakonomics, which I read on the LA leg and Umberto Eco’s latest, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana. Hopefully, it will take me to Auckland.

Time to let everything recharge and get some sleep.
